Doug Anderson played Wheelchair Basketball at a provincial level from 1989 – 1997.

Doug represented South Africa in 1996 at the World Wheelchair Games in Stoke Mandeville, U.K.

Doug has always supported Sports for People With Disabilities in South Africa, Wheelchair Basketball included.

Doug has supported the national Wheelchair Basketball Team on his radio shows for many years.

In 2008 Doug was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for his long-standing support of the game, by Charles Saunders from Wheelchair Basketball South Africa.
