The SABAT Wheelchair Race is an annual race organised by the Quad Para Association of South Africa. The race takes place at Kyalami Race Track and is used as an awareness campaign. The race is a day of fun for quadriplegics. The 2009 SABAT Wheelchair Race was included in the line-up of racing at Kyalami Race Track and 30 000 spectators cheered as the group of quadriplegics raced their electric wheelchairs around the track.
Doug Anderson took part in the race to experience the atmosphere. What an incredible day of fun. Doug incidentally came fourth in the race…better luck next year.
